You may have noticed a change in the cap design of your Huel Ready-to-Drink bottles. The new caps are permanently attached to the bottle, and here’s why:
EU regulation update
From July 2024, new EU legislation requires that plastic caps on beverage bottles 3 litres or less must remain attached after opening. This regulation aims to reduce plastic litter and improve recycling rates across the industry.
As Huel Ready-to-Drink is produced in the EU and sold globally, we’ve updated our packaging to comply with this regulation ahead of the deadline.
Why this change matters
Keeping the cap attached helps ensure:
• The entire bottle and cap are recycled together, reducing the chance of litter
• Better alignment with global sustainability standards
• A consistent bottle design across all markets
We understand it’s a change
We know the new cap style may feel different, especially when shaking the bottle or drinking on the go. Your feedback is important, and our team is continually working to improve the experience while staying compliant with regulations and committed to sustainability.
If you have any concerns or feedback about the new lid design, feel free to reach out to our Customer Experience team. We’re always listening.
